SpanField

Struct SpanField

Source
struct SpanField {
    shift: u32,
    width: u32,
}
Expand description

Specifies a field within one of the span formats. Provides const operations that (a) let a span format be fully specified, and (b) check/read/write the field for/from/to a span.

Fields§

§shift: u32

The field’s bit position, where zero means it’s in the lowest bits.

§width: u32

The field’s width, in bits.

Implementations§

Source§

impl SpanField

Source

const fn top(width: u32) -> Self

Specifies the top field, i.e. the highest bits. Chained with below.

Source

const fn below(self, width: u32) -> Self

Specifies a field that comes below the field in self. Chainable.

Source

const fn mask(self) -> u64

The mask for the (downshifted to 0..n) field.

Source

const fn get(self, u: u64) -> u32

Gets the field from a span-as-u64 as a u32.

Source

const fn set(self, v: u32) -> u64

Sets the field to v in an otherwise-zero span-as-u64.

Source

const fn too_big(self, v: u32) -> u32

Returns non-zero if v is too big to fit in the field.

Source

const fn assert_is_bottom(self)

Asserts that a field uses the bottom-most bits.

Layout§

Note: Most layout information is completely unstable and may even differ between compilations. The only exception is types with certain repr(...) attributes. Please see the Rust Reference's “Type Layout” chapter for details on type layout guarantees.
